Director, School and Classroom Program
People to People International
Kansas City, Missouri, USA
Please allow me to introduce myself. I direct the School and Classroom
Program for People to People International (PTPI), one of the founding
members of the Friendship Through Education (FTE) Consortium. Diane
Midness of iEARN kindly requested your involvement in FTE projects.
I wish to introduce the PTPI School and Classroom Program, a free
rewarding service that pairs primary, middle or secondary classrooms
in different countries. Participating classrooms form partnerships
so students may use email or the postal service to collaborate
on educational projects that improve their cultural understanding
and help them form friendships. A program manual offers guidance
and projects as simple as pen pals or other projects you may also
review on the PTPI page of the FTE web site. The program also provides
postage assistance to teachers who qualify.
PTPI would be pleased to have Port of Spain classrooms participate
in this program. If necessary, projects could be conducted with
school contacts already established through your Sister Cities
relationship with Atlanta, Georgia USA. I would be happy to mail
you additional information. Please feel free to contact me (classroom@ptpi.org).
Kind regards,
Stacey Chance
